On Friday the 31st of March Leo Varadkar the Minister for Social Protection extended the Treatment Benefit Scheme to 450,000 self-employed people and their dependent partners for the first time. This includes farmers, freelancers, small business owners, contractors and professionals.
What this means is that people who are self- employed and pay PRSI at class S can now get a grant for hearing aids of 50% of the costs to a maximum of €500 per hearing aid, every four years.

At a recent audiology conference celebrating 30 years in existence Leo Varadkar paid tribute to the outstanding work the ISHAA council have continued to do in maintaining standards within private audiology in Ireland, over the last 30 years.

Endoscopic Qualification
Pictured is a delighted Padraig MacGinty of "North West Haering Centre" Letterkenny and "Sligo Hearing Aid Centre" being congratulated recently by Mr. Daius Rejali Consultant ENT Surgeon and director of Clearwax.
Padraig qualified in Endoscopic Earwax Removal having already received qualifications in Mciro-Suction and Ear Irrigation methods.
